Fatwa number ( 286 )
Q: A man made a vow that if he passed the exam, he would slaughter a ram,
and his colleagues are scattered,
some in Dammam and some in al-Hijaz and some in Kuwait, and he is unable to gather them, so what should he do?

A: If the matter is as you described, you must fulfill your vow, so slaughter the ram and feed the poor, and those of your colleagues who are able to attend; to praise Allah for the one who fulfills his vow in His saying:
They fulfill their vowsيُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ
, and for the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to fulfill vows, and for His saying:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacityلاَ يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
