Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa number ( 8918 )
Q 3: What is the ruling on one who hates his mother, not from his heart, but only in a state of anger when she speaks to him and hurts him with her words? He responds to her with the same words she said while he is angry, and he regrets that it was not his intention for such words to come out of him? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A 3: The right of parents is dutifulness, kindness, gentleness, compassion, and showing love for them. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Isra 17:23-24]
So repent to Allah the Exalted for the undutifulness that occurred from you, seek your mother's forgiveness, and persist in being dutiful to her. May Allah guide everyone to what pleases Him, for He is Generous and Bountiful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

(23) And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (24) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
