Maintaining family ties without disobedience

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 12591 )
Q 2: My husband’s relatives come to Saudi Arabia and stay for three months, and my husband spends on them for the duration of their stay, but his relatives
ask him for strange things for his sisters, even though all his sisters are married, and all his sisters are immodest in their dress, to the point that they do not even perform the prayer. So if his relatives do not get what they ask for, they get upset with him. He does not want to disobey their requests so that they do not become angry with him, and at the same time, he does not like to spend his money except on Muslim brothers who call upon their Lord. Please inform us about this matter.

A 2: Allah the Exalted encouraged His servants in His Book to maintain family ties, saying:
And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombsوَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالأَرْحَامَ
[An-Nisa 4:1]
and He warned against severing them, saying:
So would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your [ties of] relationship?فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ
[Muhammad 47:22]
these two verses. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Anyone who wants to have his provision expanded and his term of life prolonged should maintain ties of kinship.من أحب أن يوسع له في رزقه، وأن ينسأ له في أجله فليصل رحمه
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 56
narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim and Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i, and in the hadith:
Allah the Exalted said: I am the Most Merciful, and I created kinship and derived for it a name from My name. So whoever maintains it, I will maintain [a connection with] him, and whoever severs it, I will sever [a connection with] him, and whoever neglects it, I will neglect himقال الله تعالى: أنا الرحمن، خلقت الرحم وشققت لها اسمًا من اسمي، فمن وصلها وصلته، ومن قطعها قطعته، ومن بتها بتته
Sahih Ibn Hibban 6:137
narrated by Imam
Ahmad and Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi and al-Hakim. And similar to these are the established texts encouraging the maintenance of family ties. So what your husband is doing is noble character for which he is praised, and reward and recompense from Allah are hoped for him for it. However, he should combine his maintaining of ties with them with advice, commanding them to do what they have neglected of what is right, and forbidding them from what they have fallen into of what is wrong, such as immodesty in dress and the like; so that he combines for them material benefit and religious benefit. Perhaps Allah will guide them and lead them to the straight path. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.
