Cursing One’s Parents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19350 )
Q2: What is the ruling on a woman who curses her parents and the parents of her children?
Vol. 2 : It is authentically reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
It is one of the greatest sins that a man should curse his parents." It was asked (by the people), "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! How does a man curse his parents?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "'The man abuses the father of another man and the latter abuses the father of the former and abuses his mother."إن من الكبائر أن يلعن الرجل والديه . قيل: يا رسول الله، وكيف يلعن الرجل والديه؟ قال: يسب الرجل أبا الرجل فيسب أباه ويسب أمه
Sahih al-Bukhari 5973
. So if
this is the case for one who causes people to curse their parents, how much more so for one who curses his own parents himself? Or one who curses himself, like this woman who cursed her children? He is more deserving of sin, guilt, the anger of Allah, and His curse, and it is fitting that his curse returns to him. Evidence for this is what the Imam Muslim narrated in his (Sahih) from 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah; and cursed him who accommodated an innovator; and Allah cursed him who cursed his parents and Allah cursed him who changed the boundary lines (of the land possessed by him).
Sahih Muslim 1978b
. And what Umm al-Darda' narrated, she said: I heard Abu al-Darda' say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
when a man cures anything, the curse goes up to heaven and the gates of heaven are locked against it. Then it comes down to the earth and its gates are locked against it. Then it goes right and left, and if it finds no place of entrance it returns to the thing which was cursed, and if it finds no place of entrance it returns to the thing which was cursed, and if it deserves what was said (it enters it), otherwise it returns to the one who uttered it.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4905Hasan (Al-Albani)
It was narrated by Abu Dawud in his (Sunan). So cursing is forbidden and among the greatest of major sins. The Muslim is not one who uses abusive language,
nor one who curses, nor one who is obscene and foul-mouthed. Evidence for this is what Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The believer does not insult the honor of others, nor curse, nor commit Fahishah, nor is he foul.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1977Hasan (Darussalam)
It was narrated by al-Tirmidhi, and he said: A good, strange hadith. And what Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, he said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) was not one who would abuse (others) or say obscene words, or curse (others), and if he wanted to admonish anyone of us, he used to say: "What is wrong with him, his forehead be dusted!"
Sahih al-Bukhari 6031
It was narrated by al-Bukhari in his (Sahih). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
