The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18422 )
Q 2: There are some among the Sufis who claim that they see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream, and that he commands them to write books , and we find that these books contain many religious innovations and contradictions of the Shari'ah, so how is
the response to such people?
A 2: These matters are among the misguidances of the Sufis and the devil's play with their minds, for these things are among the devil's whispers, seductions, and stings by which he tried them and led them astray. It is not hidden that one who sees the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream and he commands him to do something or leave something does not act upon that; because Allah the Exalted has perfected His religion and completed His favor, so there remains nothing of the pure Shari'ah that needs completion, to be taken, for example, from visions and dreams. And if what he saw is in accordance with the Shari'ah, it is a confirmation of the religious command and assistance in it, if he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his true form. But if he saw him in a form other than his true form, then it is an incorrect vision, rather it is from the devil; due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2276Sahih (Darussalam) , so that indicates that one who sees the Prophet
(peace and blessings be upon him) in a form other than his true form has seen a devil and has not seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). It is obligatory to advise those people and make them aware, and inform them that these matters they see are from the devil's whispers and his means of entry, and to warn against the owners of those dreams; so that the ignorant are not deceived by them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

Whoever saw me (in a dream) while sleeping then he has indeed seen me. For indeed the Shaitan can not resemble me.
من رآني في المنام فقد رآني، فإن الشيطان لا يتمثل بصورتي(peace and blessings be upon him) in a form other than his true form has seen a devil and has not seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
