Repentance from insulting the religion

The thirteenth question of Fatwa No. ( 18452 )
Q 13: What should a person who insults the religion do to return to his religion, and what is his fate if he does not repent, given that he is ignorant of what he said and ignorant of its meaning, whether he is young or old?
A 13: A Muslim who insults the religion of Islam has apostatized from his religion, and it is obligatory to seek his repentance. If he repents, well and good; otherwise, he is to be killed as an apostate, and his abode is Hellfire, where he will remain forever with the disbelievers and those who associate partners with Allah, may Allah protect us from that. As for the repentance of one who insults the religion, it is achieved by praising the religion of Islam, feeling remorse for the previous words of disbelief, and resolving not to return to such things. He should also increase in seeking forgiveness and turning back to Allah the Exalted. If Allah knows his sincerity, He will accept his repentance, for He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Merciful. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
