Returning the greeting.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
My grandmother is also in her chair, reciting tasbih and tahlil. When we greet her or enter her presence, she says, "Have you cut off my dhikr?"

Answer:
Answer: Greet her with peace. Tell her that returning the greeting is obligatory, while initiating the greeting is a recommended practice (sunnah), and returning it is obligatory. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: “And when you are greeted with a greeting, greet with one better than it, or return it. Indeed, Allah is, over all things, an Accountant.” So tell her that, and this is better than the dhikr, because it is obligatory, whereas the dhikr is recommended.
