A4: The ghutrah is one of the types of head coverings among some people. It is a matter of custom, not worship. It is not necessary in the religion, nor is it a Sunnah. Whoever wishes may wear it, and whoever wishes may wear something else, such as a turban or the like. Whoever wishes may combine them. All of this and the like is without blame, except that one must not imitate women or disbelievers in his clothing in what is specific to them, nor should he be eccentric in his dress, for it may draw attention and become a cause of talk, mockery, and ridicule.
