The first question of Fatwa number ( 17998 )
Q 1: An imam says in the du'a of qunut: (Subhanaka hitha kanta ), and he was asked about it, so he said: (That was reported on the tongue of the angels as tasbih for their Lord). What is your opinion, O your Excellency?
A 1 : We do not know this tasbih with this description (Subhanaka hitha kanta) in the authentic supplications and dhikr. It is a phrase that contains a true meaning, namely: wherever You were in Your knowledge, and a false meaning according to the doctrine of the people of hulul (divine indwelling);
therefore, it must be abandoned, as is known from the guidance of the pure Shari'ah regarding the obligation to avoid phrases that are ambiguous between truth and falsehood, in order to protect the religion. And what is established in the two revelations (the Qur'an and the Sunnah) of supplications and dhikr is sufficient for it and for other invented supplications and dhikr. And among what is established in that: (Subhan Rabbi al-A'la) [Glory to my Lord, the Most High], and (Subhan Rabbi al-Azim) [Glory to my Lord, the Magnificent], and (Subhan al-Malik al-Quddus) [Glory to the King, the Most Holy], and the like of what came in the Qur'anic verses and Prophetic hadiths. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
