Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And glorify Him in the morning and in the evening," and the virtue of the dhikr: "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allahil 'Azeem."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And exalt Him morning and afternoon. وسبحوه بكرةً وأصيلاً
[Al-Ahzab 33:42]
Glorify Him in the beginning of the day and in the end of the day. Tasbih is for a person to say, "Subhan Allah, Subhan Allah, Subhan Allah." And here,
Two words which are light on the tongue and heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Mercifulكلمتان خفيتان على اللسان ثقيلتان في الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن
Sunan Ibn Majah 3806Sahih (Darussalam)
Who knows them? We do not accept the left hand, O man. Yes.
The student:
Subhan-Allah wa bi hamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-'Azim (Glory and praise is to Allah, glory is to Allah the Almighty) سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3806Sahih (Darussalam)

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you. "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allahil 'Azeem." And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told the truth when he said, "They are light on the tongue, heavy in the scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful." My brother, the reward for these two phrases is such that if a person were to spend his entire life saying, "Subhan Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allahil 'Azeem," time would be cheap for him relative to these two phrases. And in them is this virtue. What is their virtue? Here,
Two words which are light on the tongue and heavy in the Balance, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subhan-Allah كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان في الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن سبحان الله
Sunan Ibn Majah 3806Sahih (Darussalam)
.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Well done. Whenever you say these two phrases, this is their reward. It is good. Rest.
And glorify Him وسبحوه
Meaning, say, "Subhan Allah."
