Fatwa No. ( 10815 )
Q: My aunt, who is my wife’s mother, I visit every year with my daughter and my sons. However, my cousin is suffering from tuberculosis (tuberculosis), and I took him to doctors, and it was determined that he is afflicted with this disease. I asked him to accompany me to the tuberculosis hospital in Ta’if so that he could stay in the hospital and continue his treatment until he recovers, but he refused absolutely. I tried with all my effort, but to no avail. He and my aunt reside in Tihama 'Asir in the mountains, where he has sheep. I stopped visiting them this year out of fear for my children from this malignant disease. I ask you to kindly inform me: Do I have a sin from Allah (Mighty and Majestic)? May Allah guide you and keep you well.
A : If the matter is as you described, there is no blame on you for not visiting for the reason you mentioned in the question; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
A sick person should not be taken to one who is healthyلا يورد ممرض على مصح
Sahih Muslim 2221a
narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
