A person suffering from a mental illness goes to the shrines and is cured

The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 3502 )
Q4: Some of those suffering from mental illnesses among us go to the shrines built over some graves , and they return to their homes cured. What is the ruling on this?
A4 : If this is found to be the case, his illness may be due to delusions and Satanic actions that befall one whose belief is corrupted and against whom his Shaytan has gained a foothold. The Shaytan whispers to him to go to one in whom he believes there is sainthood and righteousness. The patient succumbs to this whispering and goes to his grave to be cured. His Shaytan is pleased with this because of the shirk (associating partners with Allah) involved in it, and he ceases his whispers, actions, and delusions from him. Thus, his health returns to him by the permission of Allah. This is a trial and test from Him the Exalted. May Allah protect us and you from the whispers, delusions, trials, and schemes of Shaytan, by His power and might. It is also possible that he is cured and that this coincides with his visit to the person associated with the grave, leading him to think that this cure was due to his going to one in whom he believes there is sainthood among the owners of the shrines. And Allah is the Guide to the straight path.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
