Belief in Weather Conditions
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17915 )
Q2: What is the ruling on believing in the weather conditions forecast for tomorrow, for example, issued by the Meteorological Department? Also, doctors say that those suffering from heart diseases, arteriosclerosis, and brain conditions are in a constant state of contraction in their lives, and are the most susceptible to death. Should we believe what they say? Is this a matter of knowledge of the unseen, when Allah alone is the Giver of Life and the Taker of Death?
A2 : Reporting on weather conditions consists of expected forecasts based on meteorological signs and past experiences, and is not something certain. Therefore, one should not be certain in believing or denying them. Likewise, doctors’ reports on those suffering from heart diseases are based on past experiences and are not a report on the unseen. As for life and death, they are in the hand of Allah alone. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
