The second question of Fatwa No. ( 8919 )
Q2: We have a custom where if one of us wants to threaten his son, or a younger brother, or his enemy, he says: "By Allah, I will slaughter you." In this situation, he intends to threaten. What is the ruling on that?
A2: If a man swears an oath by Allah that he will slaughter his son, it is not permissible for him to slaughter him, and it is obligatory for him to pay the expiation for the oath. The expiation is: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. Whoever cannot find the means to do so must fast for three days. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
