Artificial Teeth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 20888 )
Q: I have suffered from tooth decay since childhood, and my parents did not make an effort to treat me. The condition worsened as I grew older until today, when I have lost most of my molars and some of my other teeth. This has made digestion difficult for me and caused me great embarrassment, even in speaking with my brothers. I am considering contacting a specialist doctor to have a set of
artificial teeth fitted for me, but before I do this, I want to know its religious ruling. Please give us your ruling, may Allah reward you with good.
.

A: There is no harm in having your teeth treated by a specialist dentist by removing the deformity and replacing the defective ones with artificial teeth, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Yes, O worshipers of Allah! Use remedies. For indeed Allah did not make a disease but He made a cure for it' - or - 'a remedy. Except for one disease.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)! What is it?' He said: 'Old age.'نعم، يا عباد الله تداووا، فإن الله لم يضع داء إلا وضع له شفاء. أو قال: دواء إلا داء واحدًا. قالوا: يا رسول الله، ومـا هو؟ قال: الهرم
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2038Sahih (Darussalam)
. Abu Isa said: In this chapter, there are narrations from Ibn Mas'ud, Abu Hurayrah, and Abu Khuzaymah from his father, and Ibn 'Abbas, and this is a hasan sahih hadith. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
