Ruling on the Use of Artificial Teeth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner asks about the ruling on using artificial teeth. What is the ruling on that? May Allah reward you with good, especially if it is for the sake of adornment?

Answer:
There is nothing wrong with artificial teeth if they are not made of gold for a man. As for the man, he should avoid gold and take teeth made of something other than gold, except in cases of dire necessity, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) approved for some of the Companions the making of a gold nose when their noses had been cut off.
So the conclusion is: there is nothing wrong with artificial teeth when there is a need for them. As for adornment, it is not recommended to take something for adornment... If the teeth are sound, it is not recommended to pull them out to put in teeth for the sake of adornment. Rather, he should praise Allah for His blessing, keep his teeth, and not remove them for the sake of adornment to replace them. The least of the states of this is that it is disliked; the least of its states is that it is disliked.
As for if the teeth have fallen out and he wants to fit teeth in their place, there is nothing wrong with fitting teeth made of metal, from the permissible metals, except that leaving off gold is better, except in the case of dire necessity for it in the case of a man. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. What is the ruling if the teeth are deformed, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh: If the teeth are deformed, there is nothing wrong with removing the deformity. If they are long or protruding or receding, he straightens them; there is nothing wrong. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
