Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. And after: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed what was sent to His Eminence the General President from the honorable: The Islamic Awareness Officer at the Armed Forces Hospital, and referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars with number (622) and date 7 \ 2 \ 1413 AH. His honor asked a question, the text of which is: We inform your honor that questions reach us from the Armed Forces Hospitals
regarding the ruling on performing the secret habit in the hospital laboratory for the purpose of analyzing the problem of infertility , such that the sample is delivered to the laboratory ten minutes after the exit of the semen, and it is not suitable after a long period following its exit. Therefore, we hope that your honor will issue a fatwa to us on the ruling of the secret habit for the purpose of conducting medical analyses for the problem of infertility or other diseases that require analyzing a sample of semen in the laboratory.
After the Committee studied it, it answered that it is permissible due to the pressing need for it, and because the expected benefit in it outweighs the harm resulting from masturbation - it is permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
