The Shaykh’s mention of the hadith: “Every one of my Ummah is forgiven except those who commit sins openly…”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Therefore, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Every one of my Ummah is forgiven except those who commit sins openly كل أمتي معافا إلا المجاهرين
They asked, “Who are they, O Messenger of Allah?” He said:
It is the man who spends the evening disobeying Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) and then wakes up in the morning and reveals the cover of Allah over him, saying, “Yesterday we did such and such and such and such.” هو الرجل يمسي يعصي الله تبارك وتعالى فيصبح فيكشف ستر الله عنه يقول أمس فعلنا كذا وفعلنا كذا
If this had been kept secret from him, perhaps Allah the Exalted would have forgiven him. On the occasion of the money in this money, I wanted to remind you that this funeral procession which has spread and filled the lands and capitals, you should be aware that if you are compelled to participate in such a procession, you should know that this is contrary to the Sunnah; rather, it is a religious innovation and misguidance. And this innovation has gathered many misguidances, as we reminded you earlier.
He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Three things follow the dead person: his family, his wealth, and his deeds. Two return and one remains. His family and his wealth return, and his deeds remain يتبع الميت ثلاث أهله وماله وعمله فيرجع اثنان ويبقى واحد يرجع أهله وماله ويبقى عمله
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 1:230
It was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim. And this is sufficient, and praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds...
And our last lesson had reached the twenty-first hadith from “The Book of Asceticism in This World, Encouraging Asceticism in This World and Contentment with Little from It, Warning Against Love of It and Excessive Accumulation in It and Competition, and Some of What Came Regarding the Life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in food, clothing, drink, and the like”. This is the title of the book we began reading in the last lesson. And this book is, in fact, the last of the books in the book of *Al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib* by al-Hafiz al-Mundhiri, for there remain between us and completing this great book in its field and unique in its subject only very few books. Following this book will be the Book of Paradise and the encouragement to work for it or for its sake, and the Book of the Fire and the warning against working toward what leads to it.
