Q: I read many religious books. I read that he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade listening to singing, and I read that he (peace and blessings be upon him) listened to singing with Abu Bakr . What is the authenticity of these hadiths? May Allah reward you with good.
A: The principle is that a person should drink while sitting, and that is better. However, it is permissible for him to drink while standing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did both to indicate that the matter is broad in this regard. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
