I consulted the doctor and concealed the pregnancy from him, so he extracted her tooth and she miscarried
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: I was about four months pregnant when I suffered pain in one of my teeth. I consulted the doctor, and he asked if I was pregnant or not, so I answered
no, due to the severity of the pain, so that the doctor would extract it. The tooth was extracted, and after about a month, I miscarried the fetus. Is there a sin on me for that, and am I the cause of this fetus’s miscarriage? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good and benefit us with your knowledge.
A2: Since you concealed the existence of the pregnancy from the doctor, and the miscarriage occurred after the completion of the fourth month, when the soul was breathed into it, you owe the expiation for accidental killing, which is freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find a believing slave to free, then you must fast for two consecutive months, sixty days, along with repentance to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
