Divorce is on his mind but he has not spoken it

The third question of Fatwa No. ( 9222 )
Q3: One day I was playing soccer with one of my colleagues, and he was shooting at the ball. I mentioned in my heart, without saying it out loud, that if this goal goes in, my wife is divorced, or that I will divorce my wife. I do not remember the exact word, but at the same time, my intention was not divorce; it was just a word passing through my mind, as I mentioned to your eminence. At that same moment, I said: If I count it as one divorce, then
I took her back and went to the house and told her about the matter. I said: If I count it as one divorce, do you agree to return to me? She agreed, and we returned to normal without anyone knowing. Is this considered a divorce? If it is considered a divorce, is my method of taking her back correct or not? And do I have to pay an expiation?

A3: If the reality is as you described, that the word for divorce was only in your mind without your tongue speaking it, then this is not considered a divorce, you do not need to take your wife back, and you do not have to pay an expiation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
