Who is the woman mentioned in the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And a believing woman, if she offers herself to the Prophet, and the Prophet wishes to marry her, exclusively for you, other than the believers"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In fact, he has another question, but your answer included it, which is about the verse that says
and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet
[Al-Ahzab 33:50]
to the end of the verse. He asks who this woman is, and what is her story?

The Shaykh :
A believing woman
This is an indefinite noun and does not refer to a specific woman. However, it did happen that
That a woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have offered myself to you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at her, but she did not please him. So a man stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah! If you have no need of her, then marry me to her."
to the end of the hadith, which is established in the two Sahihs from the hadith of Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him). As for the verse, it does not indicate a specific woman.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
