Fatwa No. ( 19676 )
Q: Indeed, Allah has decreed thatmy son, who was nine years old, was struck and killed, and he has died. Does accepting the blood money for him deprive me of his intercessionin the Hereafter? I ask you to issue a ruling on this matter. May Allah reward you with good for me, for Islam, and for the Muslims. And peace be upon you.
A: You have the choice between taking his blood money and forgiving it, and forgiving it is better.
Allah the Exalted said:[Ash-Shuraa 42:40], and if you take the blood money, it does not deprive you of your son's intercession, if Allah wills; because it is a right prescribed for you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
