The Marriage of the Grandniece
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 611 )
Q: I have a grandniece (the daughter of my paternal cousin) who was married to my maternal uncle, and I am married to his daughter. Satan sowed discord between them, so he divorced her, and I also divorced my wife, my maternal aunt’s daughter. I want to marry my paternal cousin’s daughter. Is she permissible for me to marry or not?
A: It is permissible for you to marry your paternal cousin’s daughter. The fact that she was previously married to your maternal uncle and that you were married to your maternal aunt’s daughter does not prevent this. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
