Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1699 )
Q2: There is a man who is a paternal cousin of my father. My father has a daughter, and she calls this man—her father’s cousin—“Uncle.” Is it permissible for him to marry
my father’s daughter in this manner? Knowing that the girl calls this man “Uncle” .
A: 2 If the person mentioned is not an uncle to the girl by blood or by breastfeeding, then it is permissible for him to marry her. Her calling him “Uncle,” while he is her paternal cousin, has no effect on his marriage to her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
