The ruling on marriage for those who are able to do so, among men and women

We are presenting a question from her at the end of this episode, and we will keep the rest of her questions for a future episode, if Allah wills. She says: My father, or my parents, desire for me to marry, but in reality, I have not thought about this matter at all, and I do not want to marry ever. So, I refuse their request, and I am afraid of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); because in the verse—as she says—(The anger of Allah is in the anger of the parents). Is this considered a type of undutifulness to parents? And what should I do?
Answer: This is not a verse: (The anger of Allah is in the anger of the parents), rather this is a hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), from Ibn 'Umar, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said:Bulugh al-Maram 16:21 So this is not from the Qur'an, but this is from the hadith of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The point is that this is not from the Qur'an, but it is from the hadith. So it is obligatory for you to look into the matter, for marriage has many benefits, and it is a cause for chastity, lowering the gaze, and guarding the private parts, and it is among the causes for increasing the Ummah and the existence of offspring. You should look into the matter and not leave marriage, rather you must obey your parents in that, for they have advised you. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 3080 And this includes sons and daughters. So just as it is obligatory for the son to marry if it is facilitated for him, so it is obligatory for the daughter to do so, if a suitable husband is facilitated for her.
The scholars differed on this: Is it obligatory, or is it recommended and emphasized, or is there a detail: if one fears fornication, then it is obligatory, otherwise it is not, according to the sayings of the scholars of knowledge. And the most apparent is that it is obligatory whenever the matter is facilitated; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded this, and the original ruling of a command is obligation, this is the original ruling. And because the nature of man and his fitrah (innate natural disposition) calls him to that, and in leaving marriage there is great danger for both the male and the female, for perhaps each of them will fall into fornication because of that, and perhaps he will let his gaze run free because of that. So the obligatory thing is to marry with the ability to marry, if he has desire for marriage, and if she has desire for men, then it is obligatory for both of them to marry, except if there is a preventer that prevents from that, due to the absence of what enables him to have intercourse with the woman; because he has no desire for women, or if there is in her a preventer of a defect that prevents from marriage, that is another matter. The point is that as long as the man is sound and the girl is sound, the obligatory thing is marriage with the ability; for what is in it of great benefits, among which is: lowering the gaze of all, and among which is: guarding the private parts, and among which is: increasing the offspring of the Ummah, which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that he will boast with it to the nations on the Day of Resurrection, and among which are: other benefits in establishing marriage. So it is not befitting for the daughter or the son to leave that, rather it is befitting to strive for it when there is ability. Yes.

Allah’s pleasure results from the parent’s pleasure, and Allah’s displeasure results from the parent’s displeasure.
رضا الله في رضا الوالدين وسخط الله في سخط الوالدينYoung man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immorality; but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.
يا معشر الشباب! من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج؛ فإنه أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج، ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم فإنه له وجاءThe scholars differed on this: Is it obligatory, or is it recommended and emphasized, or is there a detail: if one fears fornication, then it is obligatory, otherwise it is not, according to the sayings of the scholars of knowledge.
