Q: I inform you that I have a maternal sister, and she has a paternal sister. I have married this sister and have children from her. They call my maternal sister “Aunt” from my side,
and “Maternal Aunt” from her sister’s side . What is the ruling?
A: The side of kinship from a single person can be multiple, as is the case with your maternal sister here. She is an aunt to your children from your side, and a maternal aunt to them from the side of their mother, who is your wife. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
