If a woman is afflicted with an illness, should the suitor be informed?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 20893 )
Q: I have a sister who is afflicted (with the evil eye), and a man has proposed to marry her. Is it obligatory for me to inform him that she is afflicted with the evil eye, and if I do not inform him, am I considered to be deceiving him? I ask you to kindly answer in writing, as there are many such cases in our village, and peace be upon you.
A: It is obligatory for the guardian to inform the suitor of any defects or illnesses the prospective bride has, if the suitor is unaware of them, so that he may be
fully informed; for failing to inform him of this constitutes deception of him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever cheats us is not one of us.مَن غَشَّنا فليس منا
Sunan Ibn Majah 2225Da'if (Darussalam)
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
