Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I work in Yemen, and our break at the end of the school year is always in late Sha'ban, and we travel to Sudan in Ramadan. Since there is a dispensation, we break our fast on the plane. Then we arrive in our country, but we delay in Khartoum for two or three days to take care of some matters there, and then we travel from there to our country or village, which is a distance that permits breaking the fast. Is it permissible for us to break our fast for these three days before arriving at our village, or not?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
It is permissible for you to break your fast for these three days before arriving at your country or your village, because a person is considered a traveler until he reaches his home. Allah the Exalted said:
So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
, and you may also avail yourselves of the other dispensations of travel, such as shortening the prayer, combining prayers, and wiping over leather socks for three days, because the state of travel does not end until you reach your homeland.
