It is permissible for a father to take from his daughter's mahr in a good manner

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 6242 )
Q: Is it permissible for a man to marry off his daughter for one thousand riyals, meaning: he takes the price and spends it on himself, which is called: basshalaq, in the country of Turkey where many Muslims have been afflicted? And does the father of the daughter commit open sinfulness and is his guardianship removed from her? As al-Shafi'i said, if the father of the daughter repents, is it possible for him to marry his daughter to someone else or not? Clarify the issue for us, may Allah have mercy on you, amen.
A: It is permissible for a father to marry off his daughter for one thousand riyals, and it is permissible for him to take from her mahr or from her wealth whatever he wishes; due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
You and your wealth belong to your fatherأنت ومالك لأبيك
However, it is better that he does not take except what he needs, and he does not commit open sinfulness by taking all of it, nor is his guardianship removed from her thereby; due to the evidence indicating that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
