Answer to a doubt regarding the inheritance of women
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 6290 )
Q6: A doubt that the enemies of Allah focus on, saying: the religion is injustice to women . When a son dies, his father, mother, wife, and children remain, and he leaves behind an estate. The father takes his share, and the wife takes half. The father here is not a provider. Why does the wife take half and not the full share like the father?
A6: The correct division of the estate of the person mentioned among the heirs is: first, the deceased’s debt is paid if he was in debt, then his lawful bequest is executed if he made one, then the remainder is divided into twenty-four shares. The deceased’s wife takes one-eighth due to the presence of a descendant heir, which is three shares out of twenty-four. Her father takes one-sixth, which is four shares out of twenty-four. Her mother takes one-sixth, which is four shares out of twenty-four. The remaining thirteen shares out of twenty-four are given to her children, with the male receiving the share of two females. There is no injustice in this to the wife, nor to the mother, nor to the father, nor to the children; rather, this is the requirement of wisdom
and justice, and the text and the consensus of the Ummah have indicated this. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:11] up to His saying: [An-Nisa 4:14] . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females
يُوصِيكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي أَوْلادِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الأُنْثَيَيْنِAnd whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment.
