Preventing pregnancy on the advice of doctors that their children will be born with a serious illness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 21336 )
Q: I inform you that I have had a son born with a blood clotting disorder (hemophilia). When I wanted to have another child, six doctors informed me that any children I have will be born with this disease, as it is hereditary. Therefore, I stopped having children, despite my desire for them, out of mercy for the child who would be born and for myself from the exorbitant expenses required to treat this disease, knowing that there is no definitive cure for it. The question is: Is my action correct and permissible, or not? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A: You must place your reliance on Allah, entrust the matter to Him, and proceed in seeking offspring and having children; because arranging the effects according to the causes is referred back to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
