Preventing pregnancy due to severe illness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16444 )
Q2: Is it permissible for me to use birth control pills if I am unable to become pregnant? This is because I suffer from a stomach ulcer, severe headaches, and uterine prolapse, and I am unable to discontinue the medications I am taking; the doctors have confirmed that I cannot become pregnant, and if I do, I must stop the treatment. I am unable to do without the treatment because of the pain I am exposed to. I should also mention that I have given birth to six sons, the youngest of whom is 6.5 years old.
A2: It is permissible to use birth control pills in cases of dire necessity, if pregnancy would result in severe illness, and this must be done under the direction of a specialized doctor.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
