The original presumption is the innocence of the wife’s honor

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13228 )
Q: I have an Indonesian Muslim maid who tells me that my wife has been bringing a man into the house for the past three months. She swears by Allah, and my wife swears by Allah that this did not happen, and that it is a lie and slander. My question is: Should I take my wife back to the house after she has sworn by Allah, or should I believe the Muslim maid after she has sworn by Allah and divorce her? I want a fatwa to clear my conscience, and may Allah not show you anything bad.
A: It is not permissible to believe the maid; because the original presumption is the innocence of the wife’s honor and her safety from what she was accused of. You must pay attention to advising her and warning her against everything Allah has forbidden in general, and against betraying her husband in particular. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
