Q5: What is the status of a man if he curses his wife, or a wife if she curses her husband? Does either of them become forbidden to the other in terms of marriage?
A5: Neither becomes forbidden to the other by virtue of the cursing, and no divorce takes place as a result. However, his cursing her and her cursing him are among the major sins. It is obligatory for them to repent and seek Allah's forgiveness for what occurred between them, and for each one to seek the forgiveness of the one he or she cursed. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
