Advising a Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The sixth question from Fatwa number ( 17042 )
Q6: There wasa Muslim girl with us at school, and she was displaying her adornment, meaning she was engaging in tabarruj, and she used to go to dance halls and nightclubs, and sit with European young men. I did not dare to call her to the truth by speaking to her directly, but I sent her a message warning her about her tabarruj and exposing herself, and reminded her of some verses and hadiths. All of this was accompanied by a booklet (Social Fatwas) which includes your fatwa, may Allah preserve you, regarding tabarruj, exposing oneself, and traveling abroad. The question is: Is what I did permissible, since she is a stranger to me?
A6: If you see a Muslim committing a violation of the Shari'ah, it is obligatory for you to advise him and give him beneficial books; because this is part of cooperating in righteousness and piety. What you did with this girl in terms of advising her is an obligatory duty upon you, and you will be rewarded for it, if Allah wills. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
