Admonishing the Perpetrator of a Sin
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2632 )
Q2: These workers, most of them smoke, and some of them are negligent about prayer in front of me, and I do not know whether they pray at home or not. So, is there a sin on me for remaining silent about smoking and being negligent in prayer, and is the earnings from them lawful or forbidden?
A2: It is not permissible to remain silent about these workers; rather, it is obligatory for their employer to forbid them from smoking and abandoning prayer, and to warn them that if they do not give up this evil, he will send them back to their country if they are abroad, cancel the contract with them, and hold them accountable for their past
work; otherwise, he is a partner with them in the sin; because he is affirming the evil while he is able to remove it, as we have mentioned. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
