Q1: A woman passed away who had no husband and no children, and no brothers (male) or sisters (female), but she had a full brother’s son (male) and four sisters (female), who are full siblings, and a sister on the father’s side, and she also had a sister’s daughter. Please rule for us, Your Eminence, who among these people is entitled to the inheritance? May Allah guide you.
A1: The inheritance of the aforementioned woman is restricted to her full brother’s son, provided that neither of her parents is alive, because he is the closest of the asabah (residuary heirs), and none of the others mentioned has any share; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sahih Muslim 1615a It is agreed upon that it is authentic. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
