Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 5351 )
Q1: I am a soldier in the civil defense, and every year during the Hajj season I am present in Mina and 'Arafah , and then in Mina as well, but I am wearing the official military uniform and have not removed the sewn garments. So, if I intend to perform Hajj while wearing the military uniform and have not removed the sewn garments, following the
with the pilgrims? Because the nature of my job requires adherence to the military uniform. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

A1: There is no harm in performing Hajj in your military uniform while you are tasked with Hajj duties as mentioned in the question, and you are unable to perform the work in the garments of ihram; because the competent authority does not allow it. And you must pay the expiation for this, which is: feeding six poor people, each poor person receiving half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of dates, rice, or other staple food of the country, or fasting for three days, or slaughtering a sheep for wearing the sewn garments. And you must do the same for covering the head. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
