Q2: Is there any special status for the hunting grounds of Makkah and al-Madinah ?
A2: There is no special status for the hunting grounds of Makkah or the hunting grounds of al-Madinah , except that hunting is not permitted and game is not to be driven out as long as one is within the boundaries of the Haram; due to the generality of the hadith:
Allah has made Mecca, a sanctuary, so it was a sanctuary before me and will continue to be a sanctuary after me. It was made legal for me (i.e. I was allowed to fight in it) for a few hours of a day. It is not allowed to uproot its shrubs or to cut its trees, or to chase (or disturb) its game
Ibrahim declared Mecca as sacred; I declare Medina, that between the two mountains, as inviolable. No tree should be lopped and no game is to be molested.
