The Insulin Injection in Ramadan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 3929 )
Q: I am informing you that I am a man suffering from diabetes, and I have an injection that is administered under the skin. If I do not administer this injection, my blood sugar rises. Since I am suffering from this illness, especially in the month of Ramadan, is it permissible for me to take this injection during the month of Ramadan? Please inform me, may Allah reward you. I am informing you that every year, because I do not use this injection, I become ill and am hospitalized, and I break my fast for about ten days, then I make up the days I missed. This is my situation, as the treatment is not valid at night.
A: There is no blame on you for taking the aforementioned injection during the day for treatment, and you do not have to make up the fast if you take it at night without hardship on you, as that is better. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
