Q: I have a mother who is fifty-five years old and suffers from diabetes. The doctor has decided that she must take insulin twice a day. I am her son, and I give her the injections daily, as the center is about four kilometers from the house, and it is necessary to eat immediately after the injections. I ask Allah the Mighty and Majestic, and then your eminence, to issue a ruling to me: should I continue giving the injections or refrain? Is it permissible or not? Please note that pain occurs during the administration of the injections, however slight it may be.
A: If the matter is as you described, it is permissible for you to give your mother the injections for the diabetes disease, due to the need for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
