A man’s partnership with some of his children

Fatwa number ( 18407 )
Q: I am an elderly man. I previously purchased a plot of land for a sum of eighty-five thousand riyals. I have two sons, and my sons and I developed the land equally, paying the development costs equally. I paid a sum of two hundred and seventeen thousand riyals, and the two of them paid a sum of one hundred and seventy-five thousand riyals. My question is: Is it permissible for me to write to them that they are partners in the development, in proportion to the amount they paid, knowing that I am satisfied with this, and knowing that I have daughters besides them? I ask you to inform me, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.
A: If the matter is as you described, there is no harm in writing that the development is between you and your sons, and that they are partners with you in it according to the amount of money they paid you, without it being a gift to you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
