And whoever is delegated to perform Hajj on behalf of his wife from 'Arafah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 6259 )
Q5: Several years ago, my mother performed Hajj, and in 'Arafah she delegated a person to perform Hajj on behalf of my deceased father, as he had not performed Hajj during his lifetime. Is this Hajj complete? Since she started from 'Arafah , and is it permissible to perform another Hajj for the sake of further assurance?
A5: Entering the state of ihram on the Day of 'Arafah, whether in 'Arafah or elsewhere, by the person who performed Hajj on behalf of your father is valid. If he had already performed Hajj for himself and completed the rituals of Hajj, and nothing occurred that would invalidate it, then it suffices for your father, and it is not obligatory to perform another Hajj for the sake of further assurance. However, if she wishes to perform another Hajj on his behalf, that is up to her, and she will have reward for doing so. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
