Hajj of one who has a debt

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 2353 )
Q: I took out a loan from the real estate bank for an amount of two hundred and fifty-one thousand and nine hundred riyals, payable in annual installments. Do I have the right to perform Hajj while this amount is owed to the real estate bank?
A: The ability to perform Hajj is a condition for its obligation. If you are able to perform it and to pay the installment required of you at the time of Hajj, then you must perform Hajj. If both obligations fall upon you at the same time and you cannot fulfill both together, then prioritize paying the installment you are being asked to pay, and postpone Hajj until you are able to perform it; based on the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a wayوَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلا
[Ali 'Imran 3:97]
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
