The questioner : Repeating Hajj for one who is able to do so every year, I mean, what is the opinion of some of the brothers who say that the reason is the crowding, and that it becomes Hajj only once, and so on?
The Shaykh : The correct view is that Hajj is prescribed every year, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged it and said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 933Sahih (Darussalam) But if you are committing a sin, like a person who is in a state of fitnah (trial) regarding women, and he fears that he will sin because of what he sees of women and his crowding with them, and he has already performed the obligatory Hajj, then here we say: Do not perform Hajj, and spend the money you intended for Hajj on other deeds. This is because warding off harms takes precedence over seeking benefits.
If you go to Makkah to hunt for women and look at them, and perhaps your self will embolden you to mess with them, may Allah keep us safe, then this makes you a sinner. So this may be a sin for a specific person but not for another. As for the man who performs Hajj and carries it out with composure and Islamic etiquette, and perhaps he has knowledge that benefits people, then we say he should perform Hajj every year. People differ.
