The Pilgrimage of a Minor

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6736 )
Q1: If I want my minor child, who has not yet reached puberty, to perform Hajj with me, should I dress him in the ihram garments and perform all the rituals on his behalf, such as performing tawaf for him, etc.? Or should I dress him in his regular clothes and not perform anything on his behalf, as long as he is a minor and Hajj is not obligatory upon him?
A1: If a minor who is of discerning age but has not reached puberty wishes for his guardian to perform Hajj with him, the guardian should instruct him to wear the ihram garments and to perform all the rituals of Hajj himself, starting from entering ihram at the miqat until the completion of the final acts of Hajj. The guardian should perform the stoning of the pillars on his behalf if he is unable to do so himself, and instruct him to avoid the prohibitions of ihram. If the child is not of discerning age, the guardian should intend ihram for him for 'Umrah or Hajj, perform tawaf and sa'y with him, accompany him to the remaining rituals, and perform the stoning of the pillars on his behalf.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
