Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 4212 )
Q1: I have a friend who used to work for an association. This association spends its funds on the poor and on holding parties and trips for its members. A party and an exhibition were held to raise money to be spent on the poor. My friend took a loan from the association's funds in her own name, because she was the association's secretary, to spend on the party and the exhibition. The condition was that she would return this loan to the fund's account after the party and exhibition ended, and the profit would be spent on the poor. However, my friend was in a financial crisis and took the money on the condition that she would return it when things became easy. She is now able to return it, but what makes her hesitant is the following: 1- If she pays it into the fund's account, it will appear that she was
It will appear that she did not return it at the time, which will harm her reputation among the members. 2- If she returns it to the fund account, it will not be spent on the poor, but it may be spent on holding a party or a trip or something similar. Therefore, she proposes the following and asks whether this is correct or not? 1- She can give the money to the employee who handles the spending on the poor, such as paying money for needy students, schools, and universities, or paying expenses and similar things like buying clothing for them, and so on, and give it to her in installments so that the employee does not realize what happened in the past. 2- Or she sends a messenger on her behalf to put the money into the association's account, even though this will raise a question about where this money came from. She is asking now so that she does not commit a sin: Which is more correct, the first or the second? Thank you a thousand times.

A1: It is obligatory for the woman mentioned to repent to Allah for what she did, and to return the money to the channel in which the association spends its money, namely by spending it on the poor. She may return it to the association through a trustworthy man or woman in the name of a doer of good, and by doing so, her obligation is discharged, if Allah wills.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
