Earnings from selling obscene images and films that violate moral standards

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15357 )
Q: In the past years of my life, I used to work in
magazines and newspapers featuring naked foreign women and films that violate moral standards, and I used to sell them to bad friends. After I learned of their prohibition and my Lord guided me to the straight path, I wanted to get rid of my sins. I have earned a sum of money from this bad trade, amounting to approximately three thousand pounds. I hope you will inform us, may Allah reward you, about the ruling on such a defective trade .

A: One who earns money from a forbidden source, such as selling obscene images and films that violate moral standards, and then repents to Allah the Exalted from this action, and has accumulated money from it, should place it in a charitable project or give it to a needy person to get rid of it, because it is not lawful for him, while continuing in his repentance and abandoning that work for good work and lawful earnings. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
