The questioner : A married man with children whose wife wants to wear the Islamic dress, but he opposes it; what do you advise him? May Allah reward you?

The Shaykh : The answer is that we advise him to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in his family and to praise Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for making it easy for him to have such a wife who wants to carry out what Allah has commanded regarding the Islamic dress, which guarantees her safety from trials. If Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has commanded His believing servants to protect themselves and their families from the Fire in His saying:
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
[At-Tahrim 66:6]
and if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has placed the responsibility for his family upon the man and said:
A man is a shepherd over his family and is responsible for his flock. الرجل راع في أهله ومسؤول عن رعيته
how is it fitting for this man to try to force his wife to abandon the Islamic dress for a forbidden dress that will be a cause of trial for her and through her? Let him fear Allah (the Exalted) in himself and let him fear Allah in his family, and let him praise Allah (the Exalted) for His blessing in making it easy for him to have such a righteous woman.
As for you, it is not permissible for you to obey him in disobedience to Allah, ever, because there is no obedience to a created being in disobedience to the Creator.

The questioner : This is a message from the listener Abu Shakir from Basra, Iraq. He included a set of questions in his message. In his first question, he says.
